ISO14001 standard series was prepared by the International Standards Organization since 1993, it states the Environmental Management Systems standard. In 1996, the International Standard Organization has formally published two standards:

• ISO14001 – Environmental Management System – Standard and Guild

• ISO14001 – Environmental Management System – Principal, System and Technical Support Common Guild

ISO14001 Environmental Management System is a positive response to the continuous development concept. It is a compulsory trend in the global environmental protection development.

There are more than a hundred countries have enforced ISO14004 standards at the moment. Environmental Management System is a set of systemic, programmatic and strong operational management model. It has high self-limitation, and self-determination of conformance. It results in enable to influence organization's environmental management behavior.

ISO14004 standard emphasis prevention of pollution and continuous improvement, it requires an organization setup a clear responsibility, operation regulations, documentation monitoring management system. The environmental target and index are succeeded by an effective management scheme and operation procedure and lead to the successful of the environmental goal. At the mean time, the environmental goal should evaluate its implementation status and level of completion, and this should maintain.

The management elements related to the Environmental Management System includes organization structure, activities planning, responsibility, program, procedure and resources etc. It could be in four parts, 17 elements and quality; employment health safely etc management system and these are closed integrated. It still follows the traditional PDCA (Plan, Do, Check and Act) model.
