EU CE marking

CE——Green card to Europe

CE marking is "passport" for a product within the EU.
Nowadays, there are 20 EU directives direct the product ranges and the relevant safety requirements. For those products and equipments, according to their types and usage, they must totally conform to all relevant CE Directives, so that the products can attach the CE marking and have the allowance to enter the European market.

There are lots of ways and methods to obtain the CE marking. However, the only way to be accepted by the European market is to have the certification which is certified through product testing by the certification organizations. While for some products,they should get the certification by those organization authorized by the EU.E.g., to attach the CE marking on the medical devices or pressure containers, they must have the certification of the certification organization,and the ISO 9000 certification or at least partly reach the quality requirement of the ISO 9000.

* EC Low Voltage Directive (73/23/EEC)
LVD was compulsory implemented on 1st, Jan, 1997. This Directive applies to all electrical products within certain voltage limits. For AC it should be between 50 and 1000 V; for DC it should be between 75 and 1500 V.

* Electronic Magnetic Compatiblity Directive? (EMC Directive 89/336/EEC)
EMC was compulsory implemented on 1st, Jan, 1996. This Directive applies to all electric products and equipments.

CE certification process

The certification process includes serveral steps: application, sample testing, issuance of cerification, etc.
1 Application: Fill in the application form
2 Contract signed: Customers confirm our quotation
3 Project established: Customers pay the advance money and provide the sample products
4 Testing: We provide the technical or amendment report after the testing
5 Amendment and documentary processing: Customers provide the emended sample and the further documents. 6 Certification: Issued customers pay the balance
